Leonard Chan is the founder and CEO of tag.digital Limited, with over 30 years of research and development experience in industrial automation systems, online advertising, and digital publishing solutions. Mr. Chan invented a patented technology that successfully converts traditional embroidery data tapes into editable digital computer formats. Projects led or participated in by him have received numerous accolades, including the Hong Kong ICT Awards “Best Business System Award,” double Winner awards from the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA), the World Summit Award (WSA) “m-Media & News” category, the Hong Kong Awards for Industries “Machinery and Equipment Design Award,” the Hong Kong Awards for Industries “Technology Achievement Award,” and the Hong Kong Awards for Industries “Productivity and Quality Award.”
Passionate about education and nurturing future talent, Mr. Chan actively participates in various mentorship programs, including serving as a Star Mentor in the HKSAR Government’s “Strive and Rise Programme,” and is dedicated to promoting STEAM education. He currently serves as a school manager for two schools, contributing to the enhancement of educational standards.
Mr. Chan’s key public roles include Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Innovative Technology Development Association, Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC), Ordinary Member of the Travel Industry Authority (TIA), Deputy Director of the Center for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and World Affairs Studies at the Communication University of China (CUC), Member Representative (Hong Kong, Macau, and Overseas) of the China Computer Federation, Member of the Qualifications Framework ICT Industry Training Advisory Committee (ICT ITAC), Vice Chairman of the Greater Bay Area 5G Industry Alliance, and Member of the Vetting Committee for the IT Innovation Lab Programme in Schools. Mr. Chan is committed to advancing Hong Kong’s innovation and technology development, particularly in enhancing cybersecurity, and was awarded the Medal of Honour by the Hong Kong Government in 2025 in recognition of his significant contributions.
